Contacts

What are Contacts?

Contacts are a small circle of NPCs that can be contacted for information on certain things. Contacts are from varying areas of life in the Milky Way. They do not appear on screen like normal NPCs, rather they can be accessed via holocalls. The purpose of Contacts is to broaden the PCs involvement in game's 'Verse and to add an extra dimension to that involvement. It is not the purpose of the Contacts system to reduce what the players do or to 'solve the plot.' Should they be used in this way, this system will cease to be used. As well, Contacts are not guaranteed to have information about situations.

How do the players access their Contacts?

As per the text above, Contacts are accessed via a holocall…it's as simple as that. There is, however, one catch. In order to access a Contact, the players must have at least one Favour Point (FP) with that Contact. Favour Points represent one deed the PCs have done for a specific Contact. Each holocall to a Contact costs 1 FP. Favour Points are tracked and awarded by the GMs. Providing that they have sufficient and can make a holocall (read: are on the ship), players have unlimited access to their chosen Contact.

Who are your Contacts?

Below is the list of the Season 1 Contacts. The list will grow as Contacts are unlocked through plot.

Mr. Voxis, Upper Underworld Contact

Mr. Voxis, the representative off the crews mysterious employer, is notoriously short and dismissive towards the crew. That said, it is obvious that he is an invaluable contact within the upper layers of the Milky Way's underworld. Despite his terseness and attitude about the crew of the Razorwing, Mr. Voxis is more than (or perhaps is forced to be) willing to assist the crew when the need him.

Alexa & Alyssa Syx, High Society Contact(s)

Alexa and Alyssa Syx are the twin, twenty year old daughters of two former Razorwing crew members - Sheriff Neil Syx (former Chief of Security, Lurk) and Gwen Syx (former pilot, Human). They become allies of the new crew after the successful delivery of two sports cars, the twins' birthday present from their parents. The pair are well-known socialites, and have an abundance of information about the Milky Way's high society that they'd be more than willing to help the Razorwing where they can.

Jackal & Quinn, The Black Market

Jackal and Quinn have been running the Galactic Black Market for over a century now, starting small and very underground, and now almost a completely legitimate business. They straddle the line of legality every day, and turn a pretty profit at the same time. They contacted the Razorwing, interested in opening a "business relationship" after Lance Syx offered to pull some strings.
