Luke Balrun

Player: Casimiro

Name: Luke Balrun

Race: Human

Concept: Warden to this madhouse

  • Looking out for Number 1: XO Balrun learned long ago that others will sell you out for a buck. He doesn't trust easily, and will often make poor decisions trying to cover himself.
  • Sheriff: Luke spent the last couple decades of his life surrounded by criminals. He expects to see crime everywhere, and he's better than most at spotting it.
  • The Ruler: XO Balrun is used to giving commands and having them obeyed. He may resort to orders in situations where they're not applicable or counterproductive, however.

XO Balrun's office is covered with various knick-knacks he's collected over the years, usually small gifts with sentimental value. Of note is a relatively imposing collection of tribal masks(with a camera inside one) along the back wall and a small water feature on his desk.

Personal History

Luke was kicked out of college while going for his business degree, and bounced from job to job until he picked up prison guard. His natural size and ability to understand criminals helped him rise quickly through the ranks, and due to being friends with a Councilor, he was appointed to Warden of a newly-constructed prison ship. Under his leadership, the ship ran at capacity and under budget, and did so with minimal incidents and no escapes for several years. Unfortunately, a change in leadership to a more liberal government had the ships being declared "inhumane". He retired before the decomissioning occured, and was therefore saved the scandal as hundreds of prisoners used improvised weapons to escape while being transferred to a groundside facility. He is now seeking a new job, and Aegis, after looking at his records, had one that seemed a perfect fit.

Luke has been incredibly lucky with investments in the past, and has turned his early wages into a tidy nest egg producing a fairly nice rate of return.
